Why Organic? Cotton is the world’s most popular fabric. Soft and comfortable, it’s used for almost every type of clothing. Organically raised cotton is gradually winning over new ground in the marketplace. No toxins or synthetic fertilizers are used. Organic cotton is produced without the use of harsh chemical bleaches or dyes, and is allergy free. New methods of coloring cotton are also being developed to address the problem of toxic dyes- organically colored cotton. Earth tones are now available which use no dyes whatsoever.
Bamboo fiber has been publicized as THE natural, green,<!–adsense#postad–> renewable and eco-friendly textile of the 21st Century. Bamboo thrives naturally without the use of pesticides, and is 100% biodegradable in soil by micro-organism and sunshine, causing no pollution to the environment. Bamboo naturally exhibits these characteristics: anti-bacterial; anti-fungal; anti-static; natural antibiosis qualities keep bacterium in check, decreasing bad odors; micro-gaps in the bamboo fiber give a moisture absorption rate 3X that of regular cotton; ultra-plush texture is soft on sensitive skin.
Organic and bamboo cotton clothing is now available for babies and parents at SpiffyBaby.com from premier brands and designers. Hard to find organic cotton items, such as organic denim, and even organic socks, are easily available in our online boutique.

In our growing concern about the environment, everyone should do their part to make the world a better, greener place to live – including baby!
Switch to cloth – Disposable diapers and wipes are a huge burden on landfills. Switch to cloth and save money and resources at the same time. (A good laundry service can help you keep them clean.)
Walk to work – Babies come equipped with all manners of alternative transportation. If you have to run a quick errand, why not strap baby to your chest or put her in the buggy and walk? Or you can place older babies in a bike trailer or seat attached to your bike and ride for errands a bit farther away.
Switch to organic materials. If you dress your baby only in organic materials you’ll know she’s in the most natural and comfortable clothing available. You’ll also be promoting good citizenship.
Remind others. It’s hard to not look at a passing baby, so use your baby’s clothing as a small, adorable billboard to remind others to go green as well. A single shirt might make a profound impression on plenty of admirers in a day.

There is a huge trend right now among celebrities and the rest of us to keep our babies and baby gear earth-friendly. Naturally this is a trend we should all jump on in hopes of it outlasting trendiest and heading into practicality.
More and more parents are switching to earth-friendly materials such as organic cotton and other natural fibers in clothing, baby blankets, bedding and even diaper bags. If you’re looking for some earth baby tips, try these on for size:
Go Organic – Not only is organic baby food, clothing and products better for your baby, it’s better for the environment, too.
Take a Walk – If your destination is within walking distance, why would you bother driving? Grab a stroller or backpack and take a stroll to your destination with baby. Not only will she love to be outside, you’ll love the exercise and the gas you saved.
Try Cloth Diapers – Traditional diapers don’t biodegrade very well meaning your old diapers might still be hanging out in a landfill somewhere. Using cloth diapers helps eliminate that much more waste and might also help your child potty train more quickly – what parent doesn’t want that?
